Why do we continue loving people who hurt us? It's a question we all ask ourselves at some point. We stick around in relationships that are bad for us and it's not because we can't leave, it's because we can't stop going back to them. It's baffling- how the human heart misses people even after they prove how insignificant we are in their lives. We're addicted to them- in a way that is hard to explain. There are so many faults in them, yet we look past all of them because when we're with them, we're happy. When we're with them, nothing else matters. It's only afterwards that we realise how empty it actually feels to be with them- how everything is always about them and never about you. It's a toxic pattern and you need to do your best to give it up. You won't stop missing them overnight but every time you do feel like going back, it is your job to make sure you don't succumb to that feeling. These people- they are a bad habit; and bad habits shouldn't be something you hold onto, but something you should work hard to let go of. XOXO ♥
